The CMRC was founded in 1979 by Iannis Xenakis, Giannis G. Papaioannou and Stephanos Vassileiadis in Athens.
The fundamental aim of the Center was the research and the development of electroacoustic music in Greece. Since the very first days the Center obtained pioneer musical equipment such as UPIC of Iannis Xenakis.
